COMPANY BACKGROUND Jewelry
Computer Systems, Inc. was incorporated in April of 1985.
Providing software for Retail Jewelers has been our
niche. Many systems were originally designed for general
business and got modified to sell to jewelers. Not ours.
As
our system has developed over the years we have always
been able to upgrade our customers to the latest version
easily by upgrading their data. Our customers have come
first when it comes to enhancements, and they will in the
future too. Our software is written completely for Windows and will work
with SQL Databases.
One
of our many advantages is the flexibility of our software
to provide one underlying system to customers with
varying needs. For example, our single store version will
not ask you to enter store location when you work with
it. We have a store location field in the inventory
record that always will say store 01. If you open a
second store, we send you a disk that turns on the
multi-store functions, and you now get asked for the
location when you look up inventory and add inventory,
and we turn on inventory transfers, inter-store
communications, and the ability to do multi-store
reports.
The
same thing is true for other features, such as barcoding,
networking, credit card processing, and imaging. You may
add these features at any time with ease. So a small
store starting out can acquire a portion of the system
and grow into additional features as they grow. We don't
sell an old version of the software for a discount price
that will have to be thrown out if you want to do more at
a later date.
One
of the most important areas of concern to a customer in
addition to the functionality of the software is the
support you can expect from the software company once you
buy the product. How easy is it to reach them? Do they
have a toll free number? Are their programmers in the
United States, so if you have a problem you can get fast
support?
We
are quite proud of the support we provide for our
customers. We include a reference list for you that
includes different types of users, from single store,
single users to large users. Calling references,
particularly those that have been working with a system
over a year, should be a very important part of your
decision making process. A system can look great on the
surface, but may just not work very well once you get the
software.
